Our Leadership

Superintendent Johnny Lewis was born in White Plains, Georgia in 1948. He served in the United States Air Force for 30 years (1968-1998), retiring as Chief Master Sergeant from Edwards Air Force Base. His distinguished military career included serving as Aerospace Ground Equipment Superintendent and 1st Sergeant, with notable service in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, where he was decorated with the Bronze Star Medal for his leadership of over 2,700 combined forces personnel. Pastor Lewis has been happily married to Lugenia Smith-Lewis for 52 years. They have five adult children, including their daughter Jessica who serves in the Space Force, along with eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He accepted Christ at age fifteen and was called to ministry in April 2007. In June 2010, Bishop Raymond E. Watts ordained him as Pastor, and on July 4th, 2010, he founded New Creations Church in Hesperia, California. In August 2012, the church was renamed Grace Christian Community Church of God in Christ. Pastor Lewis received his Doctorate in Theology from Next Dimension University in 2017 and was promoted to Superintendent of United in Love District in June 2017, serving under Bishop Roger Thomas. Pastor Lewis continues to make an indelible mark in ministry and the High Desert communities, living by Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
